Yokosuka Naval Base, Japan! Happy Hour has arrived-

Had a blast at Yokosuka.  The morning crowd rocked, and that tighter afternoon crowd was strong also.  Thank you OPNAV & Yokosuka Naval Base  for hosting my ‘Happy Hour’ Tour.    Truth of the matter is, each of YOU provide me my freedom. Thank you Sailors & Marines.

Hey Bernie! I really appreciate the time you set aside for us. It means a lot to all of us here in Japan that you got on a
plane for 10 plus hours just to come and boost morale and break up our daily routine. Thank you for the stories and the advice. I look forward to seeing your show again.

Thank You! Best mando training ever!!! Wish You did not have to go through the bad things you went through – I have been there too. Hopefully you’ll find the one that will leave you a little blanket so you stay dignified. Say hello to your little big brother.

I have sat through many mandatory training sessions, all of which hoped to reach the audience with the message, but this is the first “training” in which the message was received loud and clear! Thank you for sharing your time and personal life with us.

  10. Quentin Williams

Couldn’t have had a better training, I don’t think any training has touched me like your training, You KILLED.

  11. Tyrone Hill

Give your Brother a hug for me..It was inspirational and made me call my brother today..His birthday was on the 21st and mine is 7 days afterwards.

Bernie, you were awesome I have not laughed that hard in a long time, u brought me to tears cause I was laughing so hard. I also think its really cool that u shared your story like that and respect you for it and the choice you made, some people have to learn the hard way, but hopefully your message got to people so they don’t have to learn the hard way. Again your show KILLED, and it was the best training EVER!!!

  14. Laura Leiphart

Great show and very touching message. Thank you for coming to Yoksosuka!

  15. Katherine Curtis

Your show is brilliant in bringing the whole room into you and then to tell us your story. You have truly been through hard times but you still have ended out on top. 24 years sober and staying strong, I am proud of you and what you are doing. If your message reaches at least one person in your life you will be a big success, and i believe that by far you have saved more than one person. Thank YOU for all that YOU do. keep up the good work and God bless.

  16. Abraham Aguilar

  17. george kraynak

  18. Kim Tullos

Great show!! Your message was loud and clear, using a very non-traditional method! THANK YOU!!!

  19. Cathy Adams-Bomar

Bernie: Thank you for the touching story, the comedy and the tragedy really helped to get some important truths told that will have a profound impact. Having sat through and delivered many mandatory trainings, I believe yours was the best yet.

  20. E Quimby

    Hey Bernie,
I enjoyed your stories and the message you involed in them.

  21. JaVon Ford

Awesome show today!!! Your comedy/real life story is very, very inspirational, thank you!!!! We really need to hear real life testimonies, and to feel the love from an outside source, just to reassure us that our work/deeds aren’t going in vain!!!! Once again THANK YOU…AND MAY GOD BLESS YOU AND YOURS!!!

  22. Matt Horansky

Bernie, thanks for a good show. I think the way you opened up the crowd a bit with comedy definitely made it a lot more personal. By the time you got to the serious stuff, I felt there was a connection that would not be there with the standard power point. Definitely the best mandatory training I’ve ever been to!

  23. Timothy Resop

Hey bernie, thank you for such a wonderful show today. I was one of the people that had to come out, but I had such a wonderful time. It was time well spent away from work. Again thank you and have a safe trip back!!

  24. Martin Salazar

I have to be honest, I love and respect what you are doing with your life now but I do have to admit that I felt a little weird and lost some respect for you knowing how many DUI’s you had. I lost a very good friend to a drunk driver and because of that I have never actually drank before and have no respect to those who abuse it. With all that said, I say agian, I do respect what you are doing now with your life and I can see why your brother loves you so much. Thank you for what you do now.

    • Bernie

      Dear Martin-
I agree with you. I lost respect for myself back then. Alcoholics and high-risk drinkers do not respect themselves or those around them and constantly make bad choices by putting the safety of other innocent lives at risk by drinking and driving. I am working hard now, to share my bad choices and the results of those actions, in hopes of Sailors and Marines not doing the same. I am sorry for the loss of your friend. I understand the pain of that loss. Thank you for your service. Bernie McGrenahan

  25. Colton Rodriquez
