I am excited to return to Ft Irwin- set back 30 miles north of the 15 Frwy half way between Los Angeles and Las Vegas. It has been 3-4 years since my first performance at Ft. Irwin. There is great history here, established in the 1800’s as a camp for travelers to visit between Salt Lake City and California during the Gold Rush period. On August 9, 1979, the Department of the Army announced that Fort Irwin had been selected as the site for the National Training Center. With over 1000 square miles for maneuver and ranges, an uncluttered electromagnetic spectrum, airspace restricted to military use, and its isolation from densely populated areas, Fort Irwin was an ideal site for a National Training Center. The National Training Center was officially activated October 16, 1980 and Fort Irwin returned to active status on July 1, 1981.

PS….a group of us took a picture after the first program at 1000 hrs but it did not come out! The picture was not on my memory disc, so the camera button was probably not pushed hard enough! Bummer. Sorry guys. I will try to get a couple from afternoon crowd! Hoorah!

Was at your show this afternoon. I just want to say thank you for a wonderful way to spend my afternoon! Your story was very touching and I loved how you ended the afternoon with your outlook on your brother. It’s your way of “Hunting the Good Stuff.” Sometimes we as people forget how simple and happy life can be sometimes.
