Great ASAP training for any small or big company. Highly recommend to attend even if you have already receive the mandatory training.
Great show! That was definitely a lot more enjoyable than the usual death by Power Point.
Bernie!
Awesome show……Thanks for the amazing message…You’re awesome! I want to thank you for coming to the Fort Benning area. Thanks so much for volunteering your time to bring us your story and a few laughs. Was such a breath of fresh air from the normal briefing that we usually get at 0800 in the morning….. Thanks again for all you do. You are spreading an important message. Again Thank you for your wonderful stroy…
Bernie thank you for the laughs! I’m really sorry to hear about your brother, I lost a really close friend of mine to alcohol and a gun as well. Altogether I have lost 3 friends to suicide. It’s never easy to deal with, but your story helps! Thanks again for everything you do!
I was really impressed with the show. I thought it was a very funny and informative show. I thought bernie brought home the point about depression and alcohol and the way it can lead your life down a road of sorrow and regret. I felt his stories touched me. He was definitely a very motivating person to see how one can change their life after all that is gone bad and make something of yourself. Go Bernie keep the fight and the show going.
God bless you and your mission!! From someone who has traveled down that road of hell I felt a powerful message in your word. Again, God bless you and your family.. Especially ur brother Shawn! Look forward to seeing you again!
This is one of the best if not the best training sessions I have attended. Mr. McGenahan’s combination of humor and the topics of his presentation are floorless. The message is clear drinking, sexual assault, and drugs have a negative impact on life. I will remember this training session for years to come and encourage others to attend.
Many thanks to Bernie for really telling his story with a biting edge. He completely held the attention of the audience.
This is the first military ASAP training I’ve attended where people weren’t watching the clock, fidgeting in their seats or texting during the speech.
I hope he comes back to Fort Benning again!
I thought the show was wonderful, positive, and reached out to all that attended. I was crying i was laughing so much!!! Thank you for coming here and sharing your story and your jokes, I think it is wonderful what you do and the military is the best place to be giving this tour. Alcohol is a big part of every post that you go on no matter what force it is. I am prior service and now a civilian who works for the military and I am happy that this was extended to the civilian employees as well.
thank you
Mrs. Love
I am working night rotation and for the first time, I actually enjoyed being up in the middle of my night for a mangatory metting. ASAP with Bernie was amazing! I kept waiting for the power point of hands out while I was laughing than I realized he was covering all the topics with a new and intriguing outlook. Thank you!
Great time. Very funny. Best ASAP training ever.
Bernie – It was really great seeing you again! Sorry you were not able to stay longer. Thank you so much for helping us to spread the word about sexual assault, alcohol abuse, and suicide prevention. Your message really hit home and we appreciate you sharing your personal story. Take care and stay in touch!
Great ASAP…!! makes the day better with laughing in the morning, even it it was mandatory. Thank you for coming, and sharing your story. Touched my heart!
Hi Bernie!
I’m so happy I attended your comedy show, it was outstanding! I had a great time and laugh like I haven’t in a long time. Enjoyed the show but I really appreciate the message behind it, you touch a lot of every person day to day problems. What impact me the most is how you talked about how great opportunities in life can be greatly affected by bad decisions. Sometimes I ask myself why did I made those bad descisons but you made me realize how everything happens for a purpose. Another thing you reminded me how important is family as soon as I got to my car, I send a message to myparents and my brothers telling them how much I love them and how important they are. You may have not grow up to be that major league baseball player that you wanted to be, but you sure are a person who is using his skills to help others. I’m very very grateful to what you do! Thanks! God Bless You!
Awesome show! I laughed, I cried. I highly recommend this guy, he delivers the message in his own unique way.
It was truly a Happy Hour! Thanks for the laughs, encouragement and inspiration. Didn’t feel like training at all!
I truly enjoyed your presentation. I’ve been to numerous training sessions before where my friends took turns making sure we all stayed awake! We laughed til we cried. You have been able to take a real life situation and turn it around so others can learn from your experience but also have fun. May God forever bless your endeavors, keep up the good work!! : )
What a way to start your morning: A little crying and a whole lot of laughing. Thank you for the great presentation. I really enjoyed it. I wish you present this to all the high school kids in the world. They need to hear this especially during this time in their life.
Thank you again.

Bernie…. OH MY GOD…. you’re show was awesome, many, many, many thanks for coming to Ft. Benning and for the laughs. Thank you for sharing your past, very touching. Also muchas GRACIAS for being a positive role model to our men’s and woman’s in the military specially those from Ft. Benning. God Bless you.
Great show, very inspirational. You brought tears of laughter and tears of sadness. You definitely helped to change the perception of a “mandatory” training! Thank you for the message, and God Bless.
Enjoyed the program. It is very powerful and more need to hear it across the US. Thank you for your time here at Ft Benning for the meaningful program.
Bernie, excellent show. Highly enjoyable, you captured the attention of the audience, and at the same time sent an important message that could change the many lives.

That was a truly awesome and great show. I did not think it would actually be a comedy show as well as a teaching, learning, and inspirational show. I have never been to a live comedy show in all my life. This was a first. I’m originally from Guam (U.S. Territory in the Pacific Ocean) and I don’t recall growing up ever watching a live comedy show. The only comedy shows or comedy entertainers I ever watched growing up were the ones on T.V. which I truly enjoyed. You had us laughing and crying (I know I did) and it was nice to hear your true stories of part of your life and the lessons learned from it. I know I continue to learn from mine. I was telling some of my coworkers that they missed a truly awesome show and I wish they could have the opportunity to see it and enjoy it like I did. I wouldn’t mind seeing it again. Thank you for coming to us and sharing your life with us. May God continue to bless you and your family. Take care.
Thank you for coming to Fort Benning! Alcohol does make a man a different person and in excess can cause us to make bad choices that will affect us the rest of our lives. I know from experience, you get so wrapped up in the party scene that we fail to see how “the party phase” will affect us later on. Great comedy show and an amazing message! God Bless!
I just have to say that I don’t cry often, but today, not expecting to, I did. It’s such a breath of fresh air to know there are more people out there that are truly good to those who are Gifts from God. I have an older sister who is 36, mentally handicapped, and one of my Heroes. It’s amazing how things so small to some, truly mean the world to someone else… Thanks for the inspirational training and sharing your life and family with us all. Being in the military, I appreciate you taking your time to come “train” and entertain us all. God Bless.

Also, Congrats on your many years without a drink and making your family proud!
Bernie,
Hats off to you! And to think I was going to do the usual thing and let work take precedent over training, however my Commander, and several other Soldiers reminded me to go. So I managed to step away from my office to attend MANDATORY TRAINING……………
Well who knew I would be crying, wiping the tears from my eyes because you made me laugh so hard which means you are HILARIOUS! On a serious note, you accomplished a great MISSION, you were able to encompass such touchy topics: Alcohol abuse, DUIs, sexual assault, suicide, and most importantly FAMILY in a wonderful stand up! Wow, it was THE BEST TRAINING I can recall since I’ve been in the Military.
I work in Legal for 3rd BDE and unfortunately have to deal with these topics far too much. This type of training was given to us while on Rear Detachment, while the rest of the Brigade is deployed. I highly recommend you come back during Re-Intergration to address these same topics and maybe help address Spousal Abuse because you have a gift of hitting home in a talented way. Honestly, the Troops today need training the way you deliver it to see the big picture!
I pray that you continue to have success, happiness, and many more blessings! Keep doing what you do, you are definetly making your family proud! I appreciate the time you took to come out to Fort Benning, GA. I will definetly attend your next show and can’t wait to see you around October – November to welcome home 3rd BDE from Iraq! (I’m going to keep my fingers crossed and mention it to my chain of command)

Keep it coming Bernie! Without a doubt, the message came through clear and strong! What you are doing is surely something to make your Mom, yourself, and your brother proud!
Bernie,
Can’t believe how you had EVERYONE rolling with laughter. A truely AWESOME show at Ft. Benning. I went expecting another “force myself to stay awake training class.” Was I ever wrong, wish you could do ALL our training classes, LOL. You have a gift for delivering the “lesson” in a very unique way. I hope you get to do our training everytime. Where do I send the request????
Thanks for supporting your troops by sharing laughs and your powerful message with us. I really enjoyed your show and it was definately a change in pace from our traditional training. You’ve bounced back in life and it shows by your 22 years of soberiety. I commend you for that and your work that you continue to do. Thanks again and be safe in your travels.
