This is my first trip to Japan for 2015 and am happy to kick things off at the largest and most strategically important U.S. naval installation in the western Pacific: COMFLEACT Yokosuka. It’s mission is to maintain and operate base facilities for the logistic, recreational, administrative support and service of the U.S. Naval Forces Japan. Thank you for service and for inviting me back here to deliver a very important message along with some laughs. I will be at the Fleet Theater 0800 & 1000 on Friday Jan 30. See you there!

Bernie! Just saw your show at Fleet Theater Yokosuka this morning! Thank you so much for sharing your experiences to portray such a positive message. It takes courage to do what you do, you’re a hero! Looking forward to share your story to those who weren’t fortunate enough to go see you. Keep killing it!
Bernie, thank you for sharing your time, experiences, training, and fun. Everyday is a learning experience! Brothers are awesome! (Sisters too!)
Bernie Bernie Bernieee… Thank you so much for your positive messages, and of course a good laugh. You are my hero! You kill it!
Bernie, thank you so much for coming to tell your story. I feel that your story will help inspire people to know that no matter how bad life my be, anyone is capable of turning life around, not only coming back but having a wonderful feel good way of looking at it. Keep the laughs coming.
Bernie,
I really enjoyed your show. This was the best training that I have had in regards to the topic. I wish you and your family the best and again thank you for sharing your life with us and for a great laugh.
Bernie, for the first time I actually enjoyed the training they made mandatory for all hands. I didn’t know what to expect and my colleagues and I were expecting power points. Instead we got a great message and a lot of laughs. Your story I believe helped open the eyes of many who have similar problems. This type of learning is so much better than sitting through power points and out dated videos. Thank you for your message, for the laughs, and for taking the time to teach us a great lesson. You definitely killed it.
Bernie,
I had no idea what to expect from you and I am glad. Went in with an open mind and left with a good message and alot of laughs. Thank you for what you do. Thank you for using your rough past to try and prevent us, service members, from going down a similar path. God uses people with rough past in great ways and is doing great things through you.
Wonderful show! Inspirational and moving message! Keep doing what you do and thank you for visiting Yokosuka. Hope to see you again next year!!!
Bernie,
Just saw your 1000 show, and it was really great, by far the best mandatory training I’ve had in a very long time. Thank you for coming out and sharing your story with us.
Awesome Show!! Definitely the best training I have attended. Thank you for comming out!
Hot Toddy Here,
Thanks for coming out again, man! I saw your set last year and it’s still refreshing.
I resent the bean pole joke at the end though. Some of us can’t gain weight. Mic stand for life!
Bernie,
Thanks for the laughs and than you for sharing your personal story with alcohol. It’s always better “training” when the speaker is speaking from the heart. The armed forces needs more alcohol awareness training like this! God Bless!
Great show!! I really enjoyed it. I think the bed joke was by far the best. I laughed so much that my jaws started hurting. You definitely killed it!!
best mando training yet! thanks so much for sharing your story!
Thanks for the great show Bernie. Your story is very inspiring and motivational. Many people need to hear it. Continue to “Kill It”. May God continue to bless you in all that you do.
Hey! Great show and good message, especially about preventing sexual assault. But please consider striking the mic stand joke. I’m all about body acceptance, but skinny gals need acceptance, too.
Great show best one Ive been to yet and this is the third timee I’ve seen your show.
A fantastic training. Thank you so much for the stories, laughs, and training. All of us greatly appreciate you taking the time to come across the globe and share your great stories. I wish you the best in your travels and give your brother a hug for me.
Thank you.
Mr. Bernie McGrenahan, your show was OUTSTANDING! I thank you for sharing your life’s most personal experiences. I mostly like how you use your God-given talents of comedy and put them to use by sharing your story in a creative way that was very inspiring, emotional, and motivational. I laughed from beginning to end. YOU KILLED IT!
Great show Bernie! It was such a pleasure to meet you. They say do what you love and love what you do and I sincerely feel you are doing that. Alot of positive responses from the sailors after both showings finally a training they loved!
Keep getting the message out there and please come back and visit us.
I wish you well in your travels and a safe trip back stateside. Please tell your brother Sean he is related to a super hero who is making positive impacts on lives daily.
PS: Please don’t put me in the raffle. Just wanted to say thanx.
Mr. McGrenahan, you did an awesome show today, it was a really good laugh that I needed and the message was great. I actually saw your show before, back in Great Lakes IL back in early 2012. Still highly entertaining, thanks!
Fantastic show Mr. Bernie McGrenahan. You connected with me on a deep and sincere level. A level only my ultra personal diary would only know about. Like our unending passion for Captain Crunch and Cocoa Puffs. I also think putting a sand box at the back of the Commissary. That is the single most purposeful reason I have ever heard of in regards to why stores put suggestion boxes on the walls. Maybe a swing set in the future, but one step at a time. I took some NyQuil a bit before I started writing this message, and since I wont be going anywhere until I fall asleep, I guess that explains the long paragraph. Great job out there today. Don’t stop what you are doing.
Saw your show this morning, it was really enjoyable. The message really hit me, I’m sorry for your losses but it’s an inspiration that you have come so far
Awesome show. Thanks for sharing your story. I am definitely glad I attended.
Great show with a great message. Thank you for sharing your story and inspiring others. Thank you for supporting the troops. I’m glad this on was mandatory. Lol
Bernie, Bernie, Bernieeeeeeee
You made a rainy day great. Thank you for the laughs along with the positive message. You most definitely killed it.
Great show! Very funny. The message at the end was very touching.
Mr. Bernie,
Your message was powerful–the single most powerful GMT (General Military Training) program I have ever sat through. In fact, when the announcement came out this morning that “There’s mandatory GMTs on alcohol abuse,” I was expecting yet another long, boring powerpoint presentation and was honestly a little irritated that I had to cut time out of my work day to attend. My curiosity spiked when I made it into Fleet Theatre and discovered that “no, it’s some comedy thing.” I thought my shipmates were screwing with me–a comedy routine instead of training?! Well, I haven’t laughed that hard in a long while, and yet, you still managed give us all a sobering awareness of just how damaging alcohol really is.
Thank you for coming all the way out here to Japan for us. Stay strong.

Great show today! I’m pretty sure this is the second time I’ve seen you perform either in Great Lakes , Chicago or Dahlgren Va. Your life experiences are an inspiration to all of us in uniform, for taking negatives and turning them into positives, but mostly for the impact that you have on your audience…providing laughs (except for the captain crunch & lizard jokes:)., allowing us to release some some stress & let our guard down & remind us of what “normal” feels like again. The military changes people in so many ways most of which are positive, but sometimes we forget how to laugh & not take things so seriously. Thank you for sharing your time & experiences with us. It means the world even if we are a world away! Thank you!
Thanks for the show and reminding me of my own life. We have a lot in common. And thanks for helping me look at my brother in a new light.
