I am so honored to be here in sunny Arizona at Fort Huachuca!! Fort Huachuca , a US Army installation located in Sierra Vista, AZ, is home of the U.S. Army Intelligence Center and the U.S. Army Network Enterprise Technology Command (NETCOM)/9th Army Signal Command. Fort Huachuca is also the headquarters of Army Military Affiliate Radio System (MARS) and the Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC) and the Electronic Proving Ground (EPG). Thank you for hosting my “Happy Hour” tour, but more importantly, thank you for your service. I will be at the Barnes Field house at 0930 and 1330 on Thursday / Friday May 29 and 30. Come by, say hello and have some laughs! See you there!

Excellent show! It was good to hear someone with a positive message for our Soldiers! Very worthwhile to attend! No “death by power point!” This should be a regular at Fort Huachuca!
Bernie, Enjoyed your show.
Great training message, with some comedy thrown in.
You made the the same training points very real.
Thanks Again
I had a great time at the show this morning. Way better than PowerPoint.
This was a great presentation.
Great show this morning Bernie. You are able to deliver a serious message to the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines and Civilian workforce through the use of humor. Great job! Definitely better than sitting through another PowerPoint presentation where its like having your teeth pulled trying to get audience interaction.
Great show with a great message! A fantastic step out of the norm form standard Army training! Thanks for coming out and sharing your experiences with us.
Bernie,
Good AFternoon..I know you met quite a few folks in your time here, but I was the blubbering idiot that came up to you right after your first show. I thought you relayed a positive message through laughter. I laughed..and I cried. You are doing wonderful things and I cannot imagine how hard it must be to tell your family story, and the tribulations you have been through. I have a lot of respect for you and thank you for sharing this with us.
I have a few close friends with drinking problems so your words really hit home for me. I try to help, but they don’t seem to want any. If I could have had them sit and listen to what you had to say this morning, maybe it would open their eyes, as it did mine.
Thank you again for coming, Bernie. It was such a pleasure and an honor to hear what you had to say. I will never forget you..God be with you and your family. 🙂
Ms. Julie Odda, DAC
Thank you for sharing your story. The comedy was great and I appreciate the personal testimony you shared with us. It is a message that needs to be heard and it needs to hit home. Thank you
You KILLED!!! Very funny show. Thanks for sharing your experiences! MUCH better than death by powerpoint!!
Thank you and God Bless You for taking the time to share such a touching story.
Bernie
Fantastic, thank you very much.
Bernie,
Just got back to work and still entranced by your show. You definitely Killed it. Glad to see you turned your life around. Not many people get as many chances as you did. Congrats on the marriage as well. GODSPEED to you and your family.
Bernster,
Great show, I related completely as I have a brother coming off his 2nd DUI and has finally quit drinking. Before he didnt care who he took advantage of or hurt. Now he’s a completely different person making sound decisions. I’m helping him anyway I can as it is very difficult to recover from 2 DUI’s. Keep the inspiration going as it is contagious.
Enjoyed the show very much. Thank you for sharing your story and I applaud your efforts in dealing with your addiction to alcohol.
I wish you continued success, health and happiness.
I had fun at the show. Funny and a strong (personal) message. Keep spreading the word.
Cali Friend.
Bernie,
Great show! Thanks for sharing your story. Of all the ASAP training I’ve had over the years, yours was by far the most effective. It’s very easy to teach alcohol and substance abuse prevention facts and figures, check the block and go on with business as usual. What’s not easy (and what I feel you accomplished masterfully) is creating a true impact on attitudes and misconceptions surrounding alcohol in our culture. I have no doubt you have made a lasting impression on some of the soldiers and civililians present that will invariably save lives.
Well done.
Frank Farmer
Aside from the “thumbs up” training, your story moved me for many reasons. Thanks for setting aside your insecurities, like what you opened up with, and getting on the stage in front of us to make us laugh and tell your story. I can’t speak for everyone, but I know I heard you loud and clear.
One of the best training I have ever attended, but more importantly, one of the most honest stories I have ever heard.
Thanks,
Maranda
Awesome show! This was some of the best ASAP training I have ever attended in over 18 years in the military. Keep up the good work!
Sir – was nice to get on here and see more than five comments. But if you EVER come back to AZ …
I am so happy our community has hopped on here and represented how we can support someone – or we just want a free book. Look forward to seeing who the raffle winners are.
I’ve been through many ASAP training events, however, this is the very first ASAP event that included comedy. I can honestly say that it was worth it.
Thanks for sharing your story, though we might’ve been a tough crowd (joke) I am sure you touched our Soldiers (to include me) and we can now pass on the message to some one else.
Thanks again.
Great show! Hearing someone else’s life experiences and my own personal experiences (of course) are always the type of lessons that stick with me. Very heartfelt and comical. Glad we didn’t have to sit through another PowerPoint presentation!
Slayed me, or would it be slew! Laughed and cried like a little baby.
Thanks for making us laugh, sharing your story and by the way I was born in England and we drive on the correct side of the road, everyone else drives on the wrong side. Thats all, got to go now and prepare my joint for dinner.
Thank you so much for sharing your personal testimony and making us laugh and cry in the process. It was a very effective and enjoyable training presentation…the best I’ve experienced so far. Godspeed.
Bernie:
Thanks for the laughs, the insight, and the lesson.
I was glad I went to the first show on Thursday. Rushed back to the unit and let everyone know that this Mandatory training wasn’t going to be something they regret.
Thanks again for your time and dedication to the message and the emphasis on choices and personal responsibility.
-Pete
Bernie – the best ASAP program I have attended in my 42 years with DOD – told Kevin Mills as much. Your ability to get a bunch of stone sober military types to laugh at 1330 on a Thursday afternoon was “killer”;)
On serious note nothing is as sobering as reality – your personal story is powerful and I appreciate your willingness to share and give hope to those struggling with addictions in their lives. Truth told your story had a message for us all…
Don’t put me in the drawing as there are many others more deserving just know your comedy is laughable…;) and your message unforgettable… God Bless
You do enthusiasm well….:) Thank you for sharing your message with humor and sincerity!! It makes a tremendous impact!
You Suck! 😉
Bernie, your training is some of the best training I have ever been forced to attend. Using comedy in training is a fantastic way to learn. Your testimony of some of the challenges you have faced during your life was very inspirational. I believe God allowed you to go through all of what you went through so that you can be as impactful as you are today. Believe me, your integrity definitely shines through during your training and you are definitely a credible person to reach out and train on the abuse of alcohol. I know that you still have deep pain for the loss of your brother, but know that everything that happened, had to happen in order for you to be doing what you are doing today. I am going to be praying that God continues to heal the broken hearts of your family.

Bernie, the training I have received in over 18 years of being with the military. I it good to hear and see someone who has been there instead of listening to someone who thinks they know what it is like. May god continue to bless you and your family.
The best training*
Bernie, You’re special. Thank You for bringing your family to us through your work. You’re making a positive difference.
The message is clear.
Very good show Bernie……really enjoyed it and was touched by your story. God speed ahead with all your future endeavors and blessings to your brother/family.
Enjoyed the show, Bernie, even though I didn’t ‘know who you were’….lol. I didn’t mean it the way it sounded….
Worst ever! Just kidding! You killed! I’m glad you interacted with us instead of lecturing us. I know we all were expecting death by PowerPoint! Thanks for making all of our days!
Well done! This was the most enjoyable ASAP class I have ever attended. Loved the humor and was touched by your story. Thank you for making things real. Many Blessings to you and your family.
Bernie, unlike most of the other comments, I was able to listen to your story not once but four times as I was one of the vendors. Each time I picked up something different and each time it was a special moment. Whether I got a simple laugh or heard something special about your family and the rough times you have all gone through, your message is loud and clear. If you’re going to drink, be responsible. And if you need help stopping, don’t be ashamed to ask for help. Delightful yet to the point type of training. Each group also responded differently to your show, some were very emotionally touched while others were still trying to absorb your message. All told a very enlightening two days for me. Keep up the great delivery of an important topic.
I was a vendor for the 2 days and say after seeing 4 shows they were all great and with a great message. I wish so many more had attended. Military folks are so used to the mundane and have learned to dread mandatory fun. They missed a great experience. Hope they bring you back.
I took the training this morning, thank you for the message. You kept my attention, normally I just dose off on training.
The show was both funny and meaningful, it has me thinking about getting in touch with my family and rebuilding bridges.
Great comedy show portraying a serious topic. Positive end to a rough start is always good to hear. Keep doing what you’re doing and killing it! Those that opted for the PowerPoint link for training missed out. Best wishes to you and Shawn and Debbie.
