FORT RUCKER, ALABAMA 36362-5363 SEPTEMBER 24 2010

Dear Mr McGrenahan,

Thank you for taking time to speak at the 2010 Army Senior Safety Tactical Symposium. I have no doubt your unique perspective will have a poitive impact on our Army in the critical days ahead.

General George S. Patton, one of the most revered officers our military has ever known, once said, “The Soldier is the Army.” After nearly a decade of continuous conflict, we now know our Army cannot stand on Soldiers alone. Your involvement in this symposium has contributed immeasurably to the noble goal of keeping our total force- Soldiers, Families and Civilians- safe, ready and strong. Thank you again for supporting our Army and our Nation

Sincerely,

William T. Wolf

Dear Mr. McGrenahan:

You brought the Happy Hour Comedy Show, “Comedy is the Cure” to Fort Huachuca on April 18-19, 20 11. Your presentation on alcohol, high risk behaviors, sexual assault, suicide, and domestic violence was a hit on the Fort Huachuca Installation. Your personal testimony was a powerful and inspirational message about the consequences of irresponsible drinking and drug use; and how it affected not only yourself, but your family as well. The soldiers and civilians laughed from their hearts and guts. Through humor and wit, your message about becoming personally responsible for yourself and your Battle Buddy reached a lot of the soldiers and civilians. After the performances, many soldiers said they were able to relate to your testimony and were encouraged to utilize some of the resources that were mentioned during the performances. This was the second year that you have supported the Sexual Assault Prevention and Awareness Month through the Happy Hour Comedy Show. Fort Huachuca is looking forward to having you back.

Sincerely,

Stacy Jones

Bernie McGrenahan brought his Comedy With A Twist to Ft Wainwright, Alaska 24 and 25 January 2011.  Bernie was scheduled for two shows on the 24th and one on the 25th.  While here he also agreed to pay a visit to the Warrior Transition Unit (aka Wounded Warrior Unit).  The Soldiers at the WTU were so excited about Bernie coming to see them personally that Bernie gave them their own private Comedy Hour.  They were ecstatic over him.

Bernie‘s show brings humor.  But he also brings a heartfelt personal message about irresponsible drinking and the devastating consequences of using drugs.

The Soldiers laughed from their hearts and guts, and they also felt Bernie’s sincere love for them.  I think Bernie clearly gives a message that alcohol and drugs are destructive and that Soldiers can and do have fun and laughter without them.

We have an average of 6-8 groups and individuals visit us each year to give messages about mental health, suicide, alcohol and drugs.  Without reservation and with all sincerity, Bernie McGrenahan’s Comedy With A Twist was one of the BEST we’ve had at Ft. Wainwright.

Sincerely,
