Thank You for your inspiring visit to the Black Knights of the 19th Airlift Wing at Little Rock Air Force Base. Your presentation to our Airmen community accomplished what has sometimes been an elusive goal for our commanders and safety staffs. While very entertaining on the surface, your message of personal responsibility coupled with the wingman mindset and the consequences of runaway alcohol use connected with our men and women. That “connection” was keenly evident as our Airmen, young and old, shared anecdotes of personal experience with you immediately after that show. My goal for this unique event was to develop an atmosphere for commanders and supervisors to facilitate our Airmen’s self-promotion of the Wingman philosophy. For the 1,000 or so Wright Patterson Airmen, and civilians who showed, thanks for a job well done. Rarely can you find a talent such as yourself who can roll the realities of life into a positive message… one that is well received.

We on the Wright-Patt have had some hard times over the past few months as we’ve had four suicides (military and civilian) and several attempts. It is hard on those who are left behind… to try and sort through what we missed, or what we failed to provide.

I know yours is a job, which provides you food, but i can tell your message is from the heart, and hopefully will make a difference here!

You (as I said on the BLOG post) are a Great American. I thank you for your service, and a message to our airmen.

Dear Mr. McGrenahan,

Thank you for coming to Sheppard AFB with the Happy Hour Comedy Tour May 6 – 7, 2009. Your message about alcohol awareness, drug abuse, sexual awareness and the troubles they bring was inspirational. You were able to effectively reach many airmen with a great message in a manner that makes the message real.

Feedback received at the ADAPT clinic has been overwhelmingly positive. The clients my ADAPT staff have worked with unanimously stated they felt you were telling their story or speaking right to them. For example, one airmen said he was struggling emotionally after his brother had committed suicide recently. He was grateful to hear that someone else understood what he was going through. Another said she was struggling with being an “alcoholic in recovery” and keeping it a secret. She was grateful for the timing of the show so she could get the support she needed.

Once again, thank you for your appearance and the encouragement you gave while at Sheppard. I highly recommend this program for other Air Force bases and look forward to working with you again in the future.
