NAVAL SUBMARINE BASE NEW LONDON

GROTON, CONNECTICUT 06349-5000  SEPTEMBER 24 2010

Dear Mr McGrenahan,

On behalf of the Sailors and civilians of the Naval Submarine Base New London community, I want to thank you personally for your outstanding and inspirational performance.

Too often, we listen to presentations that are”death by powerpoint” and the training, however important, never accomplishes the intended goal of actually educating Sailors on the dangers of Drugs and Alcohol. Your message, balanced with humor and personal experiences, captured the attention of all those in attendance and I truly believe you were able to connect and provide substantial impact to each one of their lives.

In my entire 25 year career, I cannot remember a more entertaining and informative “training experience”. Again, a big Navy thanks to you for sharing your experiences with us at the “Submarine Capital of the World”

Warmest Regards,

M.W. Denno

Bernie,

Thank you very much for traveling to Vance AFB. Your message is on target for our young audience…we introduce Lieutenants and Airmen to our Air Force here at Vance and the message you provide is very important for them to hear. Hopefully everyone learned from your mistakes and will not put themselves or others in harm’s way. It takes a lot of guts to stand up in front of strangers and tell your story…but the happy ending and message is powerful.

We appreciate your support of the military, especially in time of war and call you a true patriot who loves his country and contrymen paying the price for his freedom. You are welcome back to Vance anytime.

Dear Mr. McGrenahan,

I want to thank you for the tremendous message you sent out to the 45th Space Wing personnel at Patrick AFB and Cape Canaveral Air Force Station. Your willingness to share your personal life story hits home in a way that a normal safety briefing cannot achieve. It was extremely effective and the feedback since you left has been nothing but positive.

I am confident that your presentation will go a long way in helping people think before they get behind the wheel after drinking. Your program will help save lives.

WHITEMAN AIR FORCE BASE, MISSOURI 2 JUNE 2009

Dear Bernie,

It was great to have you at Whiteman Air Force Base, home of the mighty 509th Bomb Wing. Thanks for sharing your insight and experiences. The message was clear, pointed and is certain to reduce occurrences of under-age drinking, alcohol abuse and sexual assault. Your speaking from the heart, sharing personal life-changing events and providing some humor was by far the best method I’ve seen, ever!

Now that you’ve toured the B-2 aircraft I’m sure you can appreciate the capabilities of this awesome weapon system. But the B-2 is not the most critical weapon on this base…it’s the Airmen, and you have made our Airmen Stronger. Thanks for caring.

Sincerely,

Dear Mr. McGrenagan,

Thank You for your inspiring visit to the Black Knights of the 19th Airlift Wing at Little Rock Air Force Base. Your presentation to our Airmen community accomplished what has sometimes been an elusive goal for our commanders and safety staffs. While very entertaining on the surface, your message of personal responsibility coupled with the wingman mindset and the consequences of runaway alcohol use connected with our men and women. That “connection” was keenly evident as our Airmen, young and old, shared anecdotes of personal experience with you immediately after that show. My goal for this unique event was to develop an atmosphere for commanders and supervisors to facilitate our Airmen’s self-promotion of the Wingman philosophy. Your message was right on target as that dialogue continued at venues throughout the base during the remainder of our Wingman Day event. Truly inspiring!

Again, I wanted to express my sincere gratitude and pass along a job well done. You are a “Master” at your craft and a “Patriot” in your cause. Thank you for making the safety and care of our nation’s greatest, our young men and women of the military, your special niche in the comedy profession. It is obvious that you care deeply for their well being.

Sincerely,
