Misawa AB- Comedy “With a Four-Star Message” hits Japan!

Congrats to Ashley Verones and Roberto Collazo: “I Killed” raffle winners!

I am here in Japan with my first stop at Misawa AB!! I want to thank the US NAVY for sponsoring this great opportunity by bringing the tour to men and women of ALL branches!  Misawa is the only combined, joint service installation in the western Pacific. It houses three U.S. military services (Army, Navy and Air Force), as well as the Japan Self-Defense Forces. The base is home to 5,200 US military personnel, as well as 350 US civilian employees and 900 Japanese national employees. Thank you to aRod and Brian for the warm welcome and for taking such great care of me and for FEEDING me after nearly 24 hours of air travel. I am even ok with my billeting quarters saying Ms. McGrenahan!  :)  Thank you to Chief Abbott for lining up all the details prior to my arrival.  Thank you for hosting my “Comedy With A Four-Star Message” tour.  I will be at the Bong Theater at 0800 and 1000 hrs on Friday May 22.  Come say hello!

Great show and message, done with a different twist. Having a sister with special needs and including that with such care. I truly appreciated that.

  2. Korey Kilgore

Great show with a great message. I’m glad to see that training is being provided in a different format.

  3. Ashley Verones

Thank you for coming to visit Misawa. We don’t often see ‘civilians’ visiting. And thank you for sharing your story.

  4. Stephen Little

Thanks for coming out and sharing your story and your comedy. Made for some great laughs followed by a truly inspirational story. Much appreciated. Good luck on the rest of your tour. And don’t forget your brothers $50.

    Bernie,
Brilliant job! I loved the way you mixed a training topic into your hilarious comedy routine. Thanks so much for sharing your story with the team here at Misawa AB. Best wishes to you in your future travels. By the way, make sure you have your wallet.

    Bernie,
Very entertaining, the only training session that I actually stayed awake in. Definitely “Comedy with a message’. Very inspiring for all the young troops to adhere to! I admire how you have changed your life around and inspire to help out the military community. From a fellow New Yorker, it’s not easy making it out of the big city successful. Best of luck on your future endeavors.

  7. Brian Neukom

    great show

  8. Daniel Loufus

    Great Show!

    Bernie,

By far the best “Mandatory” training that I enjoyed attending. Thank you for the laughs, the story, and the training. May you have safe travels during the rest of your tour, and hurry home to pickup your brother. Great Show!

The best way to teach important lessons is to relay those lessons through stories and humor. You have managed to synthesize both to create a program that brings the audience in to connect with your stories on a personal level. I recommend this program to any command or institution wishing to provide a safety message to their teams. Connecting on a personal level with serious concerns is a serious need to humanoze matters more replace Death by Powerpoint training.
