Grrrreat show sir! I had no idea that I was in store for a stand up comedy safety briefing, glad I had it though. You keep up the great work Uncle Bernie! Hope to see your show again.

It’s profound how you can use comedy to bring home such a powerful message Bernie. You turned tragedy into good. I laughed so hard during the opening part of your act that people who know my laugh, who were also in the audience, told me they starting laughing more when they heard me! When you came to the more serious part of your talk, you were still able to mix comedy with a message. Thank you so much for coming to Vandenberg AFB. I can’t wait for you to return next year!

Fantastic show! I thought that the mix of your very funny humor along with the some very powerful stories from your life were inspirational. Thank you for being open and honest with us and sharing your stories and your great sense of humor! God Bless.

Fantastic show. Your comedy was a great way to start off a Monday morning. And your message was delivered with heart and conviction, and I believe really resonated with those in attendence. Thank you for what you do.

I have never been to a comedy show before and yours was an amazing one for being the first. Not only did you hit home with the message you were sending about alcohol but you nailed it to a tee about the “sleeping arrangments” in a relationship haha. Now I feel for my poor fiance and may just make sure he gets his own blanket. You killed it for me. Thank you for popping my comedy cherry!

Great show Bernie! That was the best safety briefing I’ve ever experienced. I hope you make it back to Vandenberg as an annual event. Best wishes for you and your soon-to-be bride. I never drive after more than 1 beer. I have a great wife who is also a great wingman(wingwoman). Definitely can relate to the party years.

  14. Maj C Erickson

Great show and great impact of how the misuse of alcohol and drugs can change your own and other’s lives. Continue to do what you do; you have touched us all with your message.

  16. TSgt Sisk

Great show sir. Thank you for making my Monday not as crappy as it was going to be. Two thumbs up.

  17. Capt L. Neary

Bernie…you were awesome! I laughed so hard at times I was crying (e.g. 5-piece toilet paper puzzle)! You maintained our attention and intertwined our lingo (ADAPT, Resiliency, SARC reporting, etc) without sounding like the “same ol’, same ol'”. Thank you for coming out to Vandenberg and sharing your story. Keep up the successful life you have built out of tradegy!

  18. Archie Johnson

Thanks for sharing your story and making us laugh. It was great to hear the lessons and have a good time.

  19. Andrew Hansen

Great show! Thanks for stopping bye and speading the laughter. You Killed It!

  20. Benjamin Jewell

Great show Sparky! Definitely the best required comedy show I’ve ever been to! 😉 Really though, definitely a great message that will stick for a long time, not simply forgotten like a powerpoint message would be. I’ve had several friends lose their careers or a loved one due to alcohol, so this is a great message to get across. Killed it!

Great show! I have to admit I wasn’t looking forward to the mandatory brief and I halfway felt bad for the comedian that was going to try to make me laugh early on a Monday morning. But, you delivered! Great job mixing the funny with the serious. Your show helped me realize some of things we take for granted and how quickly it can be taken away. Thanks and looking forward to your return to Vandenberg.

  22. Kim Buchanan

Really great show!! A solid and very important message, with a nice mix of healthy laughter. You definitely killed it!!

I just wanted to let you know that I enjoyed the show very much. I remember catching your show when I was in Tech School at Keesler AFB, Mississippi in ’09; right around the same time as this show. When I remembered who you were yesterday, I remembered your story about your brother Scott. And even though I remembered it, it still hit me deeply when you told it again. God bless you for your service to the troops, you definitely mixed the comedy with the message.
